Snow Much Fun!!

Here was today's project. Constructed mostly by dad and Jacob but enjoyed by all. Jacob decided that his name is lightening "because he is really fast" (whatever that means??). Jake is holding a tomato juice can that he was using to build the fort as you will see in the following pictures. BTW the extra kids in the picture are Parker and Stone (Angela's son).
Jake...so proud of his creation!!

The fort.

Building the fort. Gotta find something fun about two feet of snow!

Catch Up Time

Of course you know it was Dad's birthday on Friday. We had the day off but the boys still went to granny's house to make dad some special cupcakes. They put as many candles as would fit into the cupcake so that he could blow them out. They also made sure their cupcakes had candles in them too. Dad loved his USMC beanie you sent him. He wore it today with the snowpants that Damien got for him. The little boys and I got him (and Sam and I) tickets to go next Saturday to see the Toledo Rockets men's basketball game against Miami of Ohio. He also got a new Rockets polo shirt since he will soon be a Toledo Rocket student.
Speaking of basetball.....here is Sam and some of his team mates (2 were missing) from this season. They are standing in front of the trophy case in the high school lobby because they just got done playing during the JV half time. Their team won again, however, by the last 3 minutes of the game there were 6 players on the floor for the other team so the coach decided to just let the 6th player play on Sam's team. It was soooo funny!! They all had a great time this year.

This was the only shot of the high school half time game that turned out. Sam had just handed the ball off and I missed the action in the picture. I hate that digital cameras are so slow to shutter.

Let It Snow!!

We got lots of snow and the boys could not wait to get out in it and play. This picture was taken after 20 seconds in the snow and already Luke was crying about getting snow in his face and his boots falling off. He went right back in the house after the picture and is not so much interested in being out in the snow anymore. The other boys, with Damien's help, built a snow fort and their faces were purple when it was time to come in. I think they will all sleep well tonight!!

Sam' First Basketball Game

On 1-3-09, Sam played his first basketball game of this season. He is on team #3 (green shirts) and they played team #4(white shirts). The game went into overtime and still ended up being tied 20 to 20. On 1-23-09 his team gets to play a game during the high school JV half time. It is so amazing at home much he has improved since last year. He really keeps up with the team and seems to know what to do when the ball comes his way. Sam worked so hard during the game that he has had shin splits all week!! His game for this Saturday was cancelled because we just got a snow storm overnight that has left us with 10 inches of snow. Even Jules cancelled our AOK class for today!!
